“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” – Galatians 6:9
If you have been a Christian for any length of time, the thoughts of quitting have passed through your mind at least once. Circumstances, trials, betrayals, health issues, financial turmoil, and misunderstandings are all part of life in general including, the lives of God’s children.
Nowhere in scripture does it say the Christian life would be smooth sailing, everybody would love you, and you would never have any issues. In fact, the Bible says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
The reality is, your journey for Christ is going to be filled with valleys. There are going to be times when you don’t know which way to turn, where to go, or what to do, but I’m thankful that even in our valleys, we don’t have to walk alone. Psalms 23:4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
I don’t know what circumstance you are facing today, but I can assure you, quitting isn’t the answer! JESUS went ALL the way for you and for me to the cross, let’s not grow weary in well-doing. Child of God, Heaven is just around the corner. It won’t be long until we see our Savior face to face. It is at that moment, I don’t want to hold my head in shame as a quitter, but I want to hear Him say, “Well done…thou good and faithful servant!”
