“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” – 1 John 5:13
1 John 5:13
There isn’t a day that goes by that someone doesn’t reach out to me and say, “DR, I just don’t know if I’m saved?” It seems as if this is becoming more of an issue in our churches in this generation.
Fear, doubt, confusion, and internal chaos, have consumed people sitting on the pews of the local Church. They run down to the altar each service, ask Jesus to save them, and get right back up with the same doubt that they came down with.
I am by no means downplaying this as I know, first hand, the fear that doubting your salvation causes. The devil uses these fear tactics to keep an individual so confused that they can’t be effective for Christ.
The reality is, God isn’t the author of confusion. Conviction to be saved isn’t confusing. The drawing power of the Holy Spirit isn’t confusing. When I got born again, I KNEW I was lost, I heard the voice of God speaking to my heart clearly, there was no confusion, and I simply put my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Since the moment I got born again, I’ve never doubted what happened that day. I’ve never questioned it, I’ve never pondered it, I’ve never wondered if I “Did the right things.” I KNOW that on May 20, 2016, I GOT SAVED!
The Bible is clear when it says that we can KNOW that we have eternal life! Friends listen to me, when you are lost, the devil is going to do everything he can to convince you that you are saved. When you are saved, he’s going to do everything he can to convince you that you are lost! You are aware that he’s a liar, aren’t you? Don’t listen to him!
If you have ever been born again, YOU WILL KNOW IT! There’s NO WAY someone as big as God can move in on the inside, and you not know it! Salvation is so simple even a child can understand it!
Ask yourself these 5 things:
Have I ever been lost?
Have I ever had a change of nature?
Do I get convicted when I sin?
Does the Lord chastise me when I sin?
Do I love God’s people?
These 5 things are a sure-fire way to either know you are saved or know that you are lost!
I’m thankful that I KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT I KNOW that I AM SAVED!
