Prisons around the world are filled with men and women who are serving life sentences for murder. Some are even on death row for committing such evil acts of violence. When you think of murder, for most people, it is hard to comprehend how someone could take an innocent life. However, you can find this evil act of violence dating all the way back to Cain and Able in the Word of God. This unimaginable act is fueled by a heart filled with hate.
The sad reality today is our churches are filled with preachers, and people, who are driven by the hate they have in their hearts. They are consumed with what someone did to them, or what someone said about them, or how someone treated them. In most cases, this hate will cause them to do things they never dreamed of. This hate engulfs their every thought to the point that they will do whatever it takes to destroy that individual’s life. My friend, the Bible calls you a murderer! No, you may have never physically killed a human being, but if you have hate in your heart towards someone else, you are no different than the serial killer on death row!
Not only does the Bible call you a murderer, but it also is very clear that you have never truly been born again. No one, driven and consumed by their hate towards another person, possesses the love of Christ in their heart. Are you a murderer? Are you consumed with hate, or are you consumed with love, even, for those who have done you wrong?
